One Person, One Life: Bridging the Potential-Impact Gap

One life, not many

You are one person in the sight of God, and you have one life.

For the woman of faith, there should be no such thing as wasted potential. In your “family life,” “work life,” “school life,” “business life,” “social life,” “political life,” even your “love life,” you carry opportunities to set yourself apart as a true leader. Leadership isn’t about giving orders or shouting instructions. True leadership begins with inspiring others into positive action. For a woman of faith, even in love, you can be a true leader—not by nagging, as the stereotype goes, but by leading your man towards the Will of God. You are one person in the sight of God, with one life to use to change many lives for the better. And one day, that one life will be measured by the impact you actually left during your time on earth.

The same woman of faith everywhere

This doesn’t mean each part of your life will look the same—it means that wherever you are, it is always the same you showing up: the woman of faith, the woman filled with God-given potential.

At school or at work, in politics or at home, in friendships or in love—you don’t stop being who God has made you. You may take on different roles, but your calling to inspire, influence, and lead others towards positive social action never changes.

Every role has the potential to impact

God has entrusted you with gifts and potential, not to be hidden away but to bear fruit. That is why every role you hold has the potential to impact:

  • as a student inspiring her peers,

  • as a professional leading with integrity,

  • as a businesswoman building with responsibility,

  • as a wife or mother nurturing with wisdom,

  • as a friend or colleague offering encouragement,

  • as a decision-maker being accountable in her role

  • as a leader in community or society shaping decisions for the good.

There is no area too small or too ordinary for your leadership to make a difference.

Be impactful, just as God Is Impactful

The first step to bridging the potential–impact gap is to see yourself as a handmaid of God:

  • The Father created you with potential.

  • The Son sends you out as His disciple.

  • The Holy Spirit empowers you so that your actions bring real positive change.

Impact is not about noise, just as leadership is not to be equated with titles or bossing people around. The world is filled with amazing leaders without titles, and people with impressive titles who could not lead a group of three.

Leadership is about taking responsibility to change things for the better, inspiring others to do the same, and doing everything in between to reach that goal.

Impact, then, is about improving the quality of life around you—at home, in your work, in your community, and in society.

When your life mirrors the Will of God—creative, purposeful, and fruitful—your potential is transformed into lasting impact.

Not “the best version” — Just fruitful

Today’s culture tells you, “Be the best version of yourself.” But think about it—if there’s a “best version” of you, that implies there are several versions of you.

Just thinking about that makes me feel tired when I imagine how much work it would take to create several versions of myself and then choose the best one!

Personally, I don’t think I’d like to develop several versions of myself. What I hope is that the only me I am is socially impactful. And if I am not yet, then the real question becomes: how can I become a socially impactful woman of faith?

That shift in thinking changes everything. It’s not about endless versions—it’s about one authentic life, lived fruitfully, leaving the kind of impact God intended.

You are unique and irreplaceable

You are unique, irreplaceable, and entrusted with potential that no one else carries. Each season of your life is unrepeatable, and every moment is a chance to lead by inspiring others into positive action that improves the quality of life around you.

Potential turned into impact—that is the authenticity of the woman of faith. One life of potential becoming a life of impact—that is the path to true fruitfulness.
