Being Christian Women in the World
Welcome to Muriel Akahi.
A woman’s life is lived as a person, in her relationships, and in the world. To live it well requires more than intention. It requires capacity, preparation, and the ability to act.
MA.com is a structured space of formation for Christian women. It forms the person, prepares her for relationships — especially marriage and family life — and enables her to take responsibility and act in the world as a Christian woman.
Whether in your home, your work, or your initiatives, your life is not separate from your service to God. It is where it is lived.
-
This space is for women who want to live their faith in a concrete way: to take responsibility for their life, build strong relationships, and act in the world in line with their faith.
It is addressed to women who have been baptised in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and who are not ordained ministers — that is, women who belong to the laity.
-
The lay apostolate is the mission of lay Christians to live their service to God in the world — through the ordinary responsibilities, relationships, and work of daily life.
-
The lay apostolate is lived where life is shaped and decisions are made — in the places where influence is exercised, whatever the scale.
It is lived in relationships, family life, work, responsibilities, and personal initiatives — in homes, workplaces, institutions, and communities, where every decision and every action carries weight.
-
It begins where you already are.
As a lay woman, these are not abstract questions:
How do you love?
How do you work?
How do you lead?
How do you influence?
How do you carry authority and responsibility?
How do you use what you have to shape the world in the Name of Jesus?

What Guides This Work
This work is grounded in a simple conviction:
Lay Christian women are called to live their faith in the world to influence and shape it in service to God.
This is not lived outside of life, but through it — in work, relationships, responsibilities, and decisions.
It requires more than intention.
It requires the capacity to live well, the preparation to build rightly, and the ability to act.
Led by the Holy Spirit, women take their place in society — not apart from it, but within it — shaping what is entrusted to them.
Muriel Akahi exists to support this work: to form the person, prepare her for relationships, and enable her to act with responsibility in the world.
Meet Muriel
Muriel Akahi is trained in theology and canon law and has over twenty years’ experience in parish ministry, faith formation, and life coaching.
Her work has been rooted in parish life, where the people of God gather and where faith is lived, tested, and formed in real situations. There, she has formed Christian faith and conscience, supported personal growth, accompanied couples in building strong and healthy relationships, and trained lay women to live their apostolate.
Her approach is grounded in reality — forming people where life is actually lived.
Testimonials
Irina P.
“We are deeply thankful to Muriel for the role she has played in our journey towards marriage. Through her guidance in the marriage course, she helped us – Emmanuel and I – to truly appreciate the sacred meaning and lifelong commitment of the sacrament of marriage in the Church. With wisdom, compassion, and patience, she guided us to see beyond the wedding day and to prepare our hearts for the life we will share together. Her words have strengthened our faith, deepened our love, and given us the tools to build a marriage rooted in respect, understanding, and God’s grace.”
Head of Caritas Nigeria & Founder of MESH CENTRE
Rev Peter B. A.
“I have had the privilege of working with Muriel for over a decade, including her workshops at the MESH Center targeting young women, especially in their teens. I personally witnessed her remarkable ability to connect with participants, helping them bring their faith, identity, and purpose into focus. Her marriage sessions profoundly impacted participants, guiding them to respect themselves and others while fostering healthy relationships. She also introduced entrepreneurship as a practical way for disadvantaged young women to use their talents for financial independence, helping them avoid harmful sexual practices. I am deeply grateful for Muriel’s dedication to uplifting young women, her positive influence, and the life-changing guidance she provides.”

The world needs you to carry your apostolate — this is how you bring Christ into it.
Do you ever feel a desire to do more for God
— but aren’t quite sure what or how?
Many lay women feel deeply drawn to serve God and truly wish to respond to that call, but besides church or charity roles, they don’t know what else to do to serve God.
If that’s where you are, this space is for you.
