Paul VI explains that evangelisation is not the imposition of a culture, but the patient work of allowing the Gospel to take root within existing cultures.
The Gospel both affirms what is true and good and gently purifies what is contrary to human dignity.
Evangelisation is not just about individuals,
But about affecting and transforming cultures from within,
Respecting what is good while purifying what contradicts the Gospel.
Paul VI teaches that the Gospel must take flesh within cultures, not erase them.
For the laity, this means living the faith from inside their cultural, social, and professional worlds — allowing the Gospel to shape habits, values, language, and ways of relating to illuminate them patiently from within, rather than standing apart from the world.
