Proverbs 17:14

“The beginning of strife is like letting out water; so stop before the quarrel breaks out.”

Matthew 26:41

“Stay awake, and pray not to enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

The purpose of this self-coaching session is to build interior capacity for discipleship. Jesus calls His disciples to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him.

You cannot deny yourself if every emotion directs your behaviour.

You cannot carry your cross if you are unstable.

You cannot follow Christ if irritation, pride, fear, or insecurity repeatedly override discernment.

This session is not therapy. It does not attempt to resolve trauma or deep psychological wounds. It is personal formation.

Its purpose is to strengthen your interior structure so that you remain responsible, coherent, and faithful under emotional pressure.

Self-denial is understood here, not as denying your emotions, but as choosing to express them in a way that leads you to “be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect” (Mt 5:48). In practice, this means to choose to be kind, even after someone has angered you, to share joy even when you are sad, or give a warm smile even when you are disgusted. This is not to be confused with hypocrisy. It is choosing to be good.

For deeper formation, consider one-to-one coaching. You can come back to this session as many times as you need.
